WE MADE THE NEWS!!! The local Tillicum Times website posted that there were four (actually we were five) windsurfers out on the water going "breakneck speeds" in the "Crazy Winds".
The forecast was actually pretty accurate, building to 30kph gusting to 50 in the early afternoon. The water was still pretty cool, but I had no trouble with bare feet. The air temperature was 20 so very nice!
Harold arrived first at 11:30 and was very anxious to get on the water, even though the wind hadn't filled in yet.
I had thought we would go down to the public beach where we could space out a bit more, but Harold was adamant he wanted to stay close to my place, where we have a jetski at the ready!
Blaine, Al, and Vadim all arrived around noon and we were out on the water by 12:30.
The wind was typical spring weather, with big gusts and some lulls. It seemed to fill in as the afternoon passed.
Harold was on his 6.1, and Al and Vadim were on 6.5's. Vadim kept switching between his big board and his small board. Blaine and I decided to foil. Blaine was on his 5.2 and I was on my 6. We both foiled most of the time. It was nice to have the bigger sails to get going in the lulls, but they were a bit challenging in the big gusts!
While the wind could have been more consistent, I think we all had a great sail. We weren't off the water until after 4:00, and we were all very tired.
It was great to see every one, even though we had to keep our distance from each other!
Great day! More photos are on my Flickr site here.

Ross's Gull Lake Update!
Old school jump fest at Gull Lake. Ross, Matt and Mike on 8s and 9s.....I should have been on a 7 but the power helped with the jumps.
Day 4 for me this year, 3 at Keho on small gear and today. I haven't spent any time in straps straight-lining it and jumping for a bit and my muscles are letting me know today!
Back to Gull tomorrow afternoon, if the forecast holds, but a bit cooler today.
You guys look like you had some fun!
